Help Yourself to Healing

Renew & re-balance your energy

- for optimal health

Sometimes, in life, we just feel stuck—something is off, we feel sluggish, we just can’t seem to get things moving again. Maybe it’s the weather, or the winter blues, but something feels off-balance.

That’s probably because it is. We feel we are lacking energy because, somewhere in our bodies, we are.

When there are great fluctuations in our energy system—e.g. through something like anger, frustration, or upset—there is a consequence to ourselves in the form of an energy dip, which may be detrimental to us. Our cells may not reproduce properly, blood may not circulate appropriately, plaque could build up in the cardiovascular system, etc. It is when we are depleted and out of balance that disease and negative emotions more easily occur. That’s why it is important that we become more aware and in touch with our own energy, and learn how to get it moving again when it is stuck!

When we view life in energy terms, we enter a flowing process. Energy is a force, which keeps the whole universe moving through change, ever balancing. Through this flowing process, we can experience ourselves as part of a total energy system—understanding that energy in ourselves and in the universe is changing all the time and that the choices we make can shift our energy to create a balanced life of health in harmony with our inner reality, and with the whole.

To help you focus on the process of moving from stagnation to life, try these three key methods:

1. Releasing negativity from the past

2. Energizing yourself

3. Nurturing and taking care of yourself

Any one of them can act as a catalyst for bringing movement and change in all areas of your life. To release negative energy, visualize it as a color, and imagine it draining down from your body into the earth to be composted. Or flick your hands and feet, imagining you are sending it away. To energize yourself, any number of exercises could do the trick. For example, brisk walking, or doing the series of movements called “The Sun Salutation” in yogaan all-over body tonic that jumpstarts circulation and brings awareness to nearly very part of your body.

For some really neat energy work exercises that get you in sync with your own ability to heal, look through a book called Brain Wave Vibration by Ilchi Lee, whose work is sometimes referred to as “The Brain Gym” or Energy Medicine by Donna Eden with David Feinstein. All of these things, done consciously and lovingly, are a part of nurturing and taking care of yourself. And of course ,you can always nurture yourself with kind thoughts and words. Do you ever compliment yourself?

When you are charged up by being plugged into your own, as well as the universal energy system, you maintain a strong energy field and you are able to work more calmly with your emotional energy. You will be able to catch those moments on your inner journey where there is a creative tension between an old habit and a new behavior. In being able to shift from the "down" end of the energy to the "up" end of the energy, you give yourself a boost that helps rebalance yourself mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
