"I just photograph stuff that I like," he says of his current work, which includes large fl oral images, documentary photographs of aircraft and architecture, and travel shots of Cuba and Italy. Milstein has been published widely, most recently in Photo Review, Germany's Foto, and Graphics magazines. His work has been collected by Eastman House, the Center for Photography, and the Dorsky Museum, among others. Working out of a studio in Kingston drew Milstein's attention to the city's outdated industries, which he has been documenting for two years. Scrap Metal #1 was taken at a scrap metal dealership on the Rondout River. Fascinated by "old buildings and old machinery, especially as it rusts and decays," Milstein is currently documenting industrial sites throughout Kingston, including cement plants, brickyards, and oil tanks. "I know these places won't be around forever as the land gets more valuable," he says. For more information, visit www.jeffreymilstein.com. | |||||||||||||
