Attention Hudson Valley pizza lovers: Save your appetite and save the date for the Hudson Valley Pizza Fest 2013 on Sunday, April 28, in Hopewell Junction at the Arbor Ridge Catering & Banquet Hall! Angelo Notaro's family has been in the restaurant business for over 50 years. He has many contacts in the pizza industry, and many people begged him to do this after his success with the Hudson Valley Wing Bowl. "My dad, Angelo senior, and mom, Josephine, are real sticklers for taking care of the customer in front of you and their families, but I'm strictly a promoter of great eating and fun events for now," says Notaro, who is shooting for 10 plus vendors for the first Hudson Valley Pizza Festival.

There will be contests for best pie, best Sicilian, best specialty pie, pizza tossing, fastest pie made, as well as a pizza eating competition. "We're working on a pizza making competition for the kids to raise funds for charities Superty.org and Julie's Jungle as well," says Notaro. A few vendors will be offering gluten-free pies as well.

There are two types of tickets for HV Pizza Fest 2013. A general ticket for $20 includes all the pizza samples. The VIP Paisan ticket costs $38, and includes all the samples you can eat, beer and wine, and a few more surprises. The VIP tickets are limited. Kids under 12 are free. Tickets can be purchased over the phone using credit card at the Pizza Fest Hotline, (845) 590-1915.
