Bands Near Me is a localized, online live music events guide that was recently launched by entrepreneur Sandy Lundy of Daryl’s House, the Pawling venue owned by Daryl Hall of Hall and Oates.

Lundy, whose background is in event planning, corporate strategy, and new business development, got the idea for the website not long after she relocated from California to join the Daryl’s House staff and began getting a feel for the creatively rich local music scene.

“These experiences motivated me to start thinking about the amount of amazing talent that exists throughout the Hudson Valley, but the irony is that most of these up-and-coming musicians have no means to promote or market themselves,” she explains. “It’s a total ‘Catch-22’—the venues rely on the bands to draw a crowd, but the average up-and-coming band has no means to promote themselves other than their own Facebook page, or if they are more established and tech-savvy, their own website. It’s an impossible circle, so I designed the site to fill that void.”
