Native New Yorker Renee Piechocki recently relocated to Chapel Hill, North Carolina from Brooklyn, where she spent the past 10 years documenting the urban landscape in paintings and photo transfers. Night Sky Brooklyn was exhibited as part of “New Directions ’01”—a national juried exhibition, curated by Charlotta Kotik, curator of contemporary art at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, which was recently exhibited at the Barrett Art Center in Poughkeepsie in November.
Ms. Piechocki’s first solo show, “Night Skies & Landings Series” opened on November 27 in the Taller Boricua Gallery at the Julia De Burgos Cultural Center in Manhattan and will be on display until January 12.
