Quarter to Three

After Super Bowl

A thought on Super Bowl Sunday:

"Football is as easy to understand as sandpaper."

Has anyone publicly diagnosed President Bush as insane? Let us consider. What is the definition of a madman? Someone who looks at a shoe and confidently sees a fish. This is certainly George W. Bush. Examining the social chaos in Iraq—which he caused—Bush sees a winnable war vs. terrorists. Giving away a $5.6 trillion surplus, mostly to rich Republicans, "strengthen[ed] the foundation of our economy."*

Unlike President Clinton, who had the smile of a chronic liar, Bush's solemn eyes reveal him to be sincere. To quote James Brown (on the subject of hot pants), "what you see is what you get" with our prez. According to people who know him, Bush is a deeply religious man who never reads—just as he appears.

The deaths of over 600,000 Iraqis** do not trouble him, yet he prays for the embryos used in stem cell research. President Bush is insane.

*"President Signs Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act," May 28, 2003 www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/05/20030528-9.html
**According to researchers at Johns Hopkins University, October, 11, 2006.
