Betsy-Dawn Williams sings and plays guitar, Paula Bradley adds her voice and piano, and Rose Sinclair plays steel guitar and sings while Emma O’Donnell works the fiddle. They also add a rotating group of guest performers. These women are western swing, honky-tonk, and rockabilly troubadours, and are involved in multiple musical projects. The band is tight and plays like a race-tuned machine.
There are six songs on It’s Honky Tonk Time! “Moanin’ the Blues,” a Hank Williams chestnut, is sung and yodeled by Williams. On “You’re Not Easy to Forget,” Bradley takes the lead with her voice is rich and lusty voice, while Sinclair rings the steel guitar alongside Ancram native O’Donnell’s lilting violin. You’ll have to get up and two-step to “Excuse Me (I Think I’ve Got A Heartache).” www.girlhowdy.com.
