(For Hank Chinaski)

Came up

behind

What a wallop

Caught me

upside

the head

thirty years

of rage

Caught her

forearms

Forced her

back

Onto

the

sofa

Listen I said

Want to

wind up

In the street

She looked up

crying

Some kind

of crazy smile

You know

I love you

I said

How about

a beer?
