Cultural and social historian Lisa Trivedi will explore the lives of women in 20th century India in the lecture “Depicting Labor, Performing Labor: Women at Work in Ahmedabad, 1937”. Trivedi’s talk will focus on photographs that were commissioned by the Jyoti Sangh, a women’s philanthropic organization dedicated to women’s advocacy, support, and vocational training.
