The carnivore’s dream festival returns to the Ulster County Fairgrounds for its eighth year as the region’s largest barbecue event. Rib vendors will come from all over the country, including Elia’s Texas Connection from Highland and Hickory BBQ from Kingston, and teams will participate in various grilling contests. There will be live music from Exit 19, Thunder Ridge, and Chain Gang. A demonstration tent runs each day to reveal the secrets of the grill, and suppliers will sell sauces, rubs, grills, and BBQ tools, and other nonbarbecue-related items. Hudsonvalleyribfest.org
