Stunningly in life, upon occasion, we encounter performers who embody that ancient truth of cathexsis... the brilliant and timeless truth expressed by Aristotle... that by "beholding" another; we divine the truth of ourselves. And something— that ineffable something— the soul, the possibility of beauty, love, a powerful radiance takes root in our beings...again.
ALL because we paid the price and came out for a night!
I have heard Zoë Lewis play on a beach, a boat, in a bar and a church... she is a consummate performer, healing with music, that great transmutative elixir.
She will joined by local bass playing Goddess, Sara Lee who has worked with The Indigo Girls, Ani DeFranco, the B-52's and others.
It has been my long standing desire to bring Zoë to the Hudson River Valley and present her to our audience here.
Opening this event will be
Hemingway’s Cat, founded and led by composer and guitarist Lorah Yaccarino, an eclectic mix of spunky danceable rock with exotic riffs and rhythms. Denise Parent, who is also a member of The Deadbeats and Big Sister, plays rocking traps, Dan Trezza gives the bass grooves, Mark Marinoff will be adding more spice with his alto sax and features Lorah's melodic, pulsating 12 string guitar.
They will be joined by jazz vocalist Alexis Cole, who can often be seen performing both internationally and in NYCs top venues: Dizzy's Club, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Smoke, The Oak Room, The Kitano and recently became lead vocalist with the West Point Jazz Knights.
& MORE FRiENDS
