From the country we came

to read lines from old songs

and hear old voices

l'eau des mers

wailing in the night

at our rain soaked porch

as the cigarette smoke rose

we spoke softly in the crowd

wiser to our whispers

meeting in the dark corner

traveling to new york

and meeting our families

for moments forever
