Weekl-long camp led by interns for Bard College’s Center for Civic Engagement. Camp for makers entering grades 5 & 6 begins at 10m, and for those entering grade 7-9 camp beings at 2pm. Maker Camp is an interactive summer program focused on the art of tinkering. Campers will learn in a hands-on style, with both practical and theoretical instruction in basic design, mechanics and physics. The library’s expert tinkerers will introduce their students to basic STEM concepts while showing them how to make bridges, rockets, and robots. By the end of their five sessions, students can expect to leave with a Maker’s attitude and handcrafted mementos.
