The Colony Cafe’s Jazzstock series, curated by local chanteuse Teri Roiger and bassist John Menegon (“Fathead” Newman), has been presenting top talent since June and culminates with a weekend blowout next month. September’s installment features vocalist supreme Sheila Jordan, who got her start nearly 50 years ago with Herbie Nichols and has worked with Carla Bley and Steve Swallow; this date finds her paired with another frequent partner, bassist Cameron Brown, a veteran of the bands of Art Blakey, George Russell, Booker Ervin, Donald Byrd, and others.
