Enchanting voices resound throughout the Catskills during the Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice, now in its third year. Performances will take over the town at multiple venues from August 2 to 5. The festival's centerpiece, Puccini's “Madama Butterfly,” stars soprano Yunah Lee as Cio Cio San and tenor Richard Troxell as Pinkerton. Steven White of the Metropolitan Opera conducts. Additional performances include the one-woman opera “La Voix Humaine,” talks with opera commentator Cori Ellison, a sample of Broadway hits, and a tribute to Peter Schickele.
