Poem: Bracelet | Poetry | Hudson Valley | Chronogram Magazine
The beads of the sky blue
bracelet contain clouds
that shimmer as the beads
move. The girl shuttles
her wrist back and forth
watching the clouds change.

She fingers her beads
as the teacher chastises her sloppy
homework and her dirty hands.

The bracelet rings against
the playground slide, catches
on the ropes of the swing,
stretches but does not break.
