Poem: Buddha Says

Standing on the grassy path
By the stage, alone
Waiting for her turn
Ms. Erin McKeown

Picked up a stick,
Bent over the path,
And saved a large earthworm
From a squishy aftermath

She placed it in the tall grass
Safe, out of harm’s way
To conduct its wormy business
For one more earthy day

Although I’ve never met her
And her mind to me’s unknown
I know all I’ll ever need to
About Ms. Erin McKeown
