Poem: The Clot | Poetry | Hudson Valley | Chronogram Magazine

Unheralded,
the shark swims
up the bloodriver

The big man
fanged,
stem bitten.

Days pass before he
understands,
weeks before he walks,
months before he utters my name.

Circling,
the shark is undeterred.
The big man swims upstream
never quite arriving.

Fins brushing his legs.
