Silk Aquaint with Julio Vladez

When: Mon., June 6, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. 2016
Price: $345
Three-day workshop. Silk Aquatint is a versatile alternative to traditional printmaking techniques. This is a great technique for painters and watercolor artists at any stage. Silk Aquatint a.k.a. Silk Collagraph, is a non-acid method of working a print plate where the image is created by painting with whitened acrylic medium on a black silk surface backed with plastic, to produce a variety of tones & textures. The plate is then inked, wiped (like a metal plate), and printed on an etching press. Plates are easy to cut and durable for large editions.
