On Friday, February 5th at 7:00 p.m. renowned climatologist Dr. James Hansen will be presenting his new book, Storms of My Grandchildren: The Truth about the Coming Climate Catastrophe and Our Last Chance to Save Humanity at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, New York.

Coined the father of climate science, Hansen is the director of NASA's Goddard Institute of Space Studies. More than 30 years ago he created one of the first climate models, Model Zero, which he used to accurately predict warming scenarios in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. His Congressional testimonies propelled the issue of global climate change into the public and policy discourse.

The event will be held in the Cary Institutes auditorium, located at 2801 Sharon Turnpike (Rte. 44) in Millbrook, New York. Learn more at www.caryinstitute.org. Following the lecture, Merritt Bookstore will be selling copies of Storms of My Grandchildren. Dr. Hansen will be available for signing. The event is free and open to the public.

The Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies is a private, not-for-profit environmental research and education organization in Millbrook, N.Y. For more than twenty-five years, Cary Institute scientists have been investigating the complex interactions that govern the natural world. Their objective findings lead to more effective policy decisions and increased environmental literacy. Focal areas include air and water pollution, climate change, invasive species, and the ecological dimensions of infectious disease. Learn more at www.caryinstitute.org
