The Vanaver Caravan at Opus 40

The Shilpgram Festival is on of the most prestigious music and dance gatherings in India. This year, the Vanaver Caravan, the Hudson Valley's ambassadors of multiculturalism, are heading to Shipgram, the first non-Indian troupe to be invited to the festival. While in India, the Caravan will also teach in the local schools and assist in the creation of the Shakti Academy, a performing and helaing arts center in the city of Udaipur. On September 17, from 5-8pm, the troupe will perform at Opus 40 in Saugerties to help propel their passage to India. (845) 256-9300; www.vanavercaravan.org.
