Photographer and documentary filmmaker Jim Fossett began his career working as a newspaper and magazine photographer. Today, his work is focused on traditional, chemical-based black-and-white and color photography, as well as digital imaging. A professor of photography and digital imaging at SUNY New Paltz, Fossett is also an active member of Cave Dogs, a performance group that combines Indonesian shadow puppetry, projected digital and video images, actors, and original music, which was founded by his wife, media artist Suzanne Stokes.
