To the Editor:
On page 117 of your May 2005 issue there sits a small jewel in a perfect setting. The title, "Dutch Time Travel," is like the rest of the article—precise and informative. Ms. Cassai's economy of language is refreshing.

The reproduction of one of the paintings, in the exhibit at Vassar College, was almost as big as the text. Unlike many other "art critics" Mary has the confidence to focus on the art and its history. She has no need to impress the reader with the fact that she owns a thesaurus and know how to use it. I would have liked to have seen the painting in color. The article was perfect.
