Cedar Heights Orchard in Rhinebeck

Posted By on Mon, Sep 2, 2013 at 8:58 AM

It was opening day at Cedar Heights Orchard in Rhinebeck yesterday. Cedar Heights is about 3 miles from Rhinebeck village so it is easy to get to. (At the intersection of Route 9G & US 9) just look for the Apple sign and "Wey Road" and follow the signs. Last time we went apple picking here we had the Gala section of the orchard to ourselves when we arrived. Another section of the Cedar Heights Orchard has pumpkins and other apple varieties including Cortlands, Jonomacs, Red Delicious, and Macoun. The small bags are $10, large bags are $20. You can fit about 10 pounds of apples in a small bag here because these bags are large for small bags! This season they are opening a new cider operation for customers, which has been 3 years in the making. I can't wait to try their cider. It's wise to call ahead if there is inclement weather.
