Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo in Hudson Tonight

Sonic Youth guitarist and vocalist Thurston Moore has rocked the stage of Club Helsinki twice so far; once with his acoustic solo act and once with his current band, Chelsea Light Moving. Tonight two of Moore’s erstwhile band mates will do the same, when Lee Ranaldo and the Dust blows into Hudson.

Led by guitarist, vocalist, and Sonic Youth co-founder Ranaldo, the new band also features the former group’s last-serving drummer, Steve Shelley, and veteran guitarist Alan Licht. The Helsinki gig is being touted as a release party for Lee Ranaldo and the Dust’s debut album, Last Night on Earth, which comes out on Matador Records today.
