Sunfrost Farms in Woodstock: Soups, sandwiches & pumpkins!

Posted By on Wed, Oct 16, 2013 at 9:00 AM

For the first two years I went here without knowing their official name. (It's Sunfrost). There is no name on the wooden exterior. I will have to ask the owner Matt one day why he likes to keep the name a secret. For the small space, Sunfrost offers a ton of treats for organic-loving foodies: vegetables, fruits, nuts, imported cheeses, pates, and homemade salsa. The sleek snack bar serves up hearty and spicy soups daily. (My favorites are Tofu Vegetable & Caribbean Kale). They have excellent sandwiches and smoothies, and very tasty take-out food. (Their garlic stuffed rotisserie chickens go quick!) There is the fresh wheat grass too if you are into that. The produce is top quality, but more expensive than other stores. You can also pick your pumpkin here without getting your hands all dirty. I once spotted Uma Thurman shopping for apples here— my only celebrity sighting in the Hudson Valley to date.
