Yoga & Music Fest Comes to Windham Oct. 26

The hills are alive with the sound of yoga music. Think of Julie Andrews chanting Om rather than yodeling alpine-style. That's how it will be when the Ahimsa Yoga & Music Festival comes to Windham Mountain next Saturday, October 26.

Yogis and yoginis, take note: This one-day festival brings a great lineup of yoga teachers and kirtan artists. The offerings kick off at 7 am (yoga folks are early risers) with a sunrise meditation and gentle yoga with Laura Harrison. Gradually, the day heats up with vinyasa flow yoga (among other styles) from such mat luminaries as Kia Miller, John Smirtic, and Corinne Gervai (owner of Euphoria Yoga in Woodstock). The music revs up as well, leading towards performances from big-draw kirtan artists including Eddy Nataraj & KC Solaris, Gaura Vani, and Shantala.

Sign up for up to three classes/workshops, linger for the music and food, and bring your own mat and props. Sanskrit yodeling is optional.
