In our September 2008 issue I profiled musician and producer Todd Mack. In the piece I focused on FODfest, the annual human rights-awareness-raising charity concert event Mack organizes in the name of his late friend and fellow musician, slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl (FOD stands for Friends of Daniel). On November 10, the compassionate Mack is presenting another benevolent affair, “The Last Waltz LIVE,” which will take place at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

Starring the Rev Tor Band and an all-star lineup of local musicians, “The Last Waltz LIVE” recreates the music of The Band’s 1978 concert film, The Last Waltz. Proceeds raised by this particular engagement will be used to produce more FODfest concerts and fund area school programs.

This clip from a 2013 “The Last Waltz LIVE” performance has the Rev Tor Band and Robby Baier playing Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young” and “Baby Let Me Follow You Down”:

The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center will host “The Last Waltz LIVE” on November 10 at 7:30pm. For tickets and more information, visit http://www.powderfingerpromo.com/.
