The Felice Brothers are without doubt the biggest thing to come out of the Woodstock-area music scene since, well, their obvious heroes, The Band. By dint of their constant touring and recording and the earnest bacchanalia of their performances, the Palenville-born group has long had most of the key British music papers gushing over their bearded-and-plaid shirted rusticism, and it regularly sells out major venues in New York and other cities. And another sell-out is pretty much a given when the Bros make a rare home-turf appearance at BSP Lounge on November 29.

Formed in 2006 by real-life brothers, Ian, James, and Simone Felice (the latter left the band in 2009 and now performs as a solo artist), the Felice Brothers have parlayed their fan- and press-pleasing blend of alternative Americana across six well-received albums. The outfit’s most recent official effort is 2011’s Celebration, Florida (Fat Possum Records), which made the Billboard Top 200. God Bless You, Amigo, a digital-only collection of home demos, was released by the band last year to fund the recording of new a studio album.

Here, the band plays the signature tune “Frankie’s Gun!” live in 2008:

The Felice Brothers will perform at BSP Lounge in Kingston on November 29 at 8pm. Tickets are $25 and still available as of this writing. For more information, visit http://bspkingston.com/.
