Saugerties has been getting so much press lately, thanks to Saugertiesian Jimmy Fallon taking over the Tonight Show desk. But did you hear about this one? Lonely Planet, one of the best traveler insider’s guides out there, recently came out with their top 10 most extraordinary places to stay in 2014, and guess what? The Saugerties Lighthouse B&B made the number 9 spot on the list. It’s in great company, too: Other picks include a sand castle in India, a cluster of thatched huts in Botswana, tree house orbs in British Columbia, and a water front lodge in South Africa. Next year, we’re hoping to finally see a Sullivan County yurt on the list. Fingers crossed! By the way, doesn’t the above photo make you long for warmer weather? It’s coming. Eventually. It has to, right?
