Ashokan Center Hosts Scottish Music Camp and Concert

Since February of last year, when I profiled Jay Ungar and Molly Mason and discussed the then-impending opening of the newly revamped Ashokan Center, the facility has been an unyielding hub of musical activity—witness last month’s installment of the always-popular Winter Hoot. This month, the harmonious hubbub continues with Ashokan’s Scottish Fiddle and Cello Camp and the concert that follows the weekend-long happening.

The camp takes place March 14-16 and features world-class Scottish traditional musicians and teachers Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas. In addition to leading workshops, Fraser and Haas will perform a special concert on the camp’s final afternoon, March 16 (for non-campers, tickets are available for the concert only).
