The GW PTO Natural Playscape Committee is issuing two projects to benefit the landscape of the George Washington Elementary School in Midtown, Kingston. The first project is the building of an Outdoor Classroom, involving design and installation of an outdoor learning space. The second project involves repairs of existing playground equipment, landscape improvements, and the design and construction of a climbing structure. Each project will create a more natural, green environment for children, encouraging outdoor playing and learning.

On April 11, a design and visioning session will take place during school hours, in which students and teachers will vote on which natural elements they would like to add to their school. A second session will be held on April 24, welcoming parents, teachers, and the midtown community to contribute opinions and ideas to the future projects. Funding and materials will be provided by the GW PTO and donations from the Kingston community. More details are forthcoming.
