Rhinebeck’s prestigious Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, which was recently featured on ABC News, is going above and beyond its expected educational opportunities. The beautiful 200-acre campus is open for the season, now containing more than 325 workshops, professional trainings, and retreats.

All Rhinebeck guests to Omega’s educational retreat center have the option to attend daily classes in yoga, tai chi, meditation, and movement. Visitors can access the campus library, sauna, sanctuary, lake, tennis courts, basketball court, woodland trails, gardens, free Wi-Fi, three delicious (primarily vegetarian) buffet meals per day, and tour the award-winning environmental education center. Omega's Wellness Center offers massages, facials, acupuncture, and life coaching for both guests and day visitors. There are children’s programs available for kids ages four to 12 along with a limited number of teen programs, ensuring age-appropriate learning and friendly supervision.

This season, in addition to the many resources, articles, videos, and online opportunities Omega has to offer, there will be two programs in New York City. On May 3, renown meditation teachers Mark Epstein, MD and Joseph Goldstein host “The Trauma of Being Alive,” where they’ll share their expertise on Buddhist psychology and the theory of Insight Meditation, revealing how trauma can be used to awaken the mind. Another NYC event takes place June 17 where spiritual teacher Adyashanti, author of True Meditation and The End of Your World, hosts an evening of intimate investigation into spiritual awakening. Chief external affairs officer at Omega, Carla Goldstein, states, “We’re thrilled to continue our efforts to make Omega more accessible by bringing some of our top teachers to New York City, and continuing to develop content and learning opportunities online.”
