You don't have to be a child of the 80's to want to spend an evening with Molly Ringwald. The star of such John Hughes classics as Pretty Pink, Sixteen Candles, and the mother of all teen angst dramas, The Breakfast Club, has earned a cross-generational appeal thanks to the enduring popularity of her Brat Pack films, and her role on the hit ABC Family show The Secret Life of the American Teenager.

Now after over three decades of acting Ringwald is branching out into singing, or rather, she is returning. Ringwald has been singing since she was three, performing with her pianist father's jazz band. She'll be bring her new one woman show, “An Evening with Molly Ringwald,” to Bard College's Spiegeltent Cabaret this Saturday, July 5, at 8:30pm. Backed by a jazz quartet, she'll be performing songs from her debut album Except Sometimes, sharing her sultry pipes in an evening of jazz standards, including “Sooner or Later,” “I Get Along Without You Very Well (Except Sometimes),” and yes, a new cover of “Don't You (Forget About Me).”

To purchase tickets click here. And be sure to check out Ringwald's vocal skills in the video below, and while you're at it, get a blast from your John Hughes-past with the soundtrack that shaped a generation (and launched endless parodies).
