Marco Benevento Celebrates New Album in Kingston

Marco Benevento

On Swift (Royal Potato Family Records), the new album by Marco Benevento, the acclaimed keyboard cat has taken the plunge into the vocal realm, finding confidence as a singer. Presumably, the Woodstock-area player will do some of that fine singing when he returns to BSP Lounge this month for a record-release show.

Swift is the fifth full-length by Benevento, who’s known as one of the top keyboard players on the current jam band scene. Recorded in Oregon with producer Richard Swift (geddit?), the set blends Benevento’s expected jazz-electronic instrumental grooves with vocal renderings of his original lyrics.

Here’s promotional vid for the new album’s “At the Show”:

Marco Benevento will perform at BSP Lounge in Kingston, New York, on September 26 at 10:30pm. Tickets are $12 and $15. For more information, call (845) 481-5158 or visit http://bspkingston.com/.
