Born in Illinois to a father who worked at the International Harvester tractor plant, Bogguss moved to Nashville in 1985 in pursuit of her dream of becoming a country singer. Four years later, she was awarded the prize for Top New Female Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music. Since then, she’s performed at the White House, been nominated for a Grammy, and collaborated with Allison Krauss, Kathy Mettea, and Crosby, Stills, and Nash. Her most recent album is last year’s Lucky (Loyal Dutchess Records), a collection Merle Haggard songs.
