Summer’s official here as of last week, and New Orleans music just seems to go so well with the season in the Hudson Valley—no doubt NOLA bands don’t mind getting away from the oppressive heat Down South for a bit to come play up here. One such act are the Soul Rebels, who will bring their brand of brassy Big Easy funk to Daryl’s House on June 14.

The eight-piece outfit blends, soul, jazz, funk, hip-hop, rock, and pop into the kind of impossible-not-to-dance-to mess that’s seen them sharing bills and collaborating live with acts as diverse as the Allman Brothers, Kanye West, Metallica, Phaorah Monk, Green Day, Galactic, Trombone Shorty, Cee Low Green, Alabama Shakes, and Woodstock’s John Medeski.

Here, the band gets the hometown booties moving at the Blue Nile in New Orleans:

The Soul Rebels will perform at Daryl’s House in Pawling, New York, on June 14 at 8pm. Tickets are $20. For more information, call (845) 289-0185 or visit http://www.darylshouseclub.com/.
