Atlanta band Reptar has lately been kicking up some heat on many of the requisite alt-act-of-the-moment spots (NPR, Spin) with their recently released second album Lurid Glow (Joyful Noise Recordings). And this Thursday they're set do some of that with their first appearance at the Bearsville Theater.

Named for a character on “Rugrats” (“the second stupidest band name we ever heard,” says singer-guitarist Graham Ulicny; the aborted first was Invisible Boyfriend), Reptar debuted in 2012 with Body Faucet (Vagrant Records), which was produced by Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Deerhunter) and won the band much giddy acclaim.

Reptar will perform at the Bearsville Theater in Bearsville, New York, on July 16 at 8pm. Stranger Cat will open. Tickets are $15. For more information, call (845) 679-4406 or visit http://www.bearsvilletheater.com/.
