It’s not hard to see why Chronogram is a proud sponsor of FreshGrass, which once again returns to Mass MoCA this weekend. The three-day outdoor bluegrass/roots music event, which runs Friday through Sunday, just seems to grew larger and attract more top-caliber names with every year.

This season ’round, FreshGrass features Friday headliner the Punch Brothers, with Twisted Pine, Flatt Lonesome, and Houndmouth. On Saturday, it’s Dwight Yoakam; Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz & Aoife O’Donovan; the Lost Bayou Ramblers; Vieux Farka Touré and Julia Easterlin; Alison Brown; and others. Sunday stars Peter Rowan, the Del McCoury Band, Willie Watson, Greensky Bluegrass, Earls of Leicester (featuring Jerry Douglas), The Man in Grass: A Tribute to Johnny Cash, and more. Food, camping, instrumental jams and competitions, family activities, workshops, and, of course, Mass MoCA’s dramatically scaled exhibitions of contemporary art are also part of the fun.

Here’s a promotional trailer for FreshGrass 2015:

FreshGrass 2015 will take place September 18, 19, and 20 at Mass MoCA in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. For ticket prices and a schedule of performers, call (413) 662-2111 ext. 1 or visit massmoca.org.
