I honestly can’t remember the last time I posted here about a gig at Keegan Ales. The Midtown Kingston microbrewery has long been a steady spot for live music, so it’s been overdue. Anyway, here we are: On December 11, Keegan’s opens it stage—and its taps—for a night headlined by the new prog-fusion super group Jane Getter Premonition.

Led by guitarist, composer, and singer Jane Getter (Saturday Night Live Band, Brother Jack McDuff), the quartet also includes her husband, keyboardist Adam Holzman (Miles Davis, Chaka Khan), bass player Bryan Beller (Joe Satriani, the Aristocrats), and drummer Chad Wackerman (Frank Zappa, Allan Holdsworth, Steven Wilson). The group’s debut album, ON (Madfish Records) boasts such special guests as vocalist Corey Glover (Living Colour), guitarist Alex Skolnick (Testament, Ozzy Osbourne), and saxophonist, flautist, and clarinetist Theo Travis (Steven Wilson, Robert Fripp).

Noodle around a bit via this tricky-riffed track from the new disc:

Jane Getter Premonition will perform at Keegan Ales in Kingston on December 11 at 9pm. Tickets are $18. For more information, call (845) 331-2739 or visit http://www.keeganales.com/.
