Birds of Chicago centers around singers and multi-instrumentalists JT Nero and Allison Russell, whose music draws on gospel traditions while simultaneously embracing the deep grooves of country and soul. Their newest album, the Joe Henry-produced Real Midnight (Independent), will be released next month.
