Though still a comparatively young band, Elephant Revival are already favorites on the progressive folk and jam festival circuits. And on April 30 the group pachyderm-monikered tramples its way to the Bearsville Theater.

Formed in 2006, the Colorado quintet blends bluegrass and ballads with indie rock, psychedelic country, Celtic fiddle tunes, jazz, and other styles. On April 1 they released Petals (Thirty Tigers Records), their fourth studio album, which drew praise from American Songwriter magazine for its “characteristically strong harmonies” and “disparate variety of genres.”

Singer and multi-instrumentalist Bonnie Paine sounds especially fine in this 2011 performance:

Elephant Revival will play at the Bearsville Theater in Bearsville, New York, on April 30 at 9pm. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 day of show. For more information, call (845) 679-4406 or visit http://www.bearsvilletheater.com/.
