Good news, regional revelers: The outdoor music festival season isn’t quite over yet. The ever-growing schedule of exciting fests includes the second annual Oldtone Roots Music Festival in Hillsdale, which happens September 8-11.

Founded by area musicians Jim Wright, Kip Beacco, and Matt Downing, who have played in such popular roots-Americana acts as the Hunger Mountain Boys, the Lucky 5, Jim & Jennie and the Pinetops, and the Hayrollers, the camping-friendly festival promises performances by the Two Man Gentlemen Band, Danny Paisley and the Southern Grass, Jesse Lege, Bruce Molsky, Tuba Skinny, the Foghorn Stringband, and others, as well as contra, square, and swing dancing, workshops, classes, and other performances on its three stages. “We are creating a platform for traditional music to be experienced and enjoyed without all the trappings of larger festivals,” says Wright. “Oldtone Roots celebrates traditional acoustic music with a down-to-earth, inclusive, and welcoming vibe.”

Dig these scenes of last year’s festival:

The 2016 Oldtone Roots Music Festival will take place September 8-11 at Cool Whisper Working Family Farm in Hillsdale, New York. Ticket prices vary. For a schedule and more information, visit http://www.oldtonemusicfestival.com/.
