Take yourself back to a simpler time. The Norman Rockwell Museum presents this Hanna-Barbera themed event, featuring screenings and talks on the animation duo’s significance in American cable culture.

The exhibit features original animation art, sketches, model sheets, photos, toys, commercial products and other archival material from the studio. An immersive and interactive sound-effect installation will be onsite.

Listen to the futuristic sounds from “The Jetsons,”(pasted for your listening pleasure below) or take it back to the stone ages with sounds from “The Flintstones.”

In keeping with the exhibit’s title, there will be a Saturday morning cartoon screening from 10am to 12pm, showing Hanna-Barbera classics like “Tom and Jerry,” “The Yogi Bear Show,” “Jonny Quest,” “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!,” and “Challenge of the Superfriends.” A continental breakfast will be included—pajamas are optional. The cartoon screenings are free with Museum admission, or $5 for the cartoon programs only.

Later in the day from 2 to 3pm, guests can explore Hanna-Barbera’s “Golden Age” from 1958 to 1969 through a museum-led discussion. Curator Jesse Kowalski will discuss the studio’s development of the Saturday morning cartoon culture. The talk is included with Museum admission, $10 for the program only.

Admission to the museum is $18, $17 for seniors, $10 for students, $6 for children, free for members, children under 5, and military personnel. Saturday, November 19th. The “Hanna-Barbera: The Architects of Saturday Morning” exhibition will be on view through May 29th. 9 Route 183, Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Nrm.org.
