We dig West Saugerties keyboardist Marco Benevento a lot around here. The impish virtuoso’s are always a blast and over-filled with all kinds of unexpected musical twists and turns. And the recently announced New Year’s Eve throwdown by Benevento at BSP sounds like a hell of a way to plunge off the precipice into 2018.

Benevento’s latest release is this year’s Woodstock Sessions (reviewed by John Burdick in the August 2017 issue of Chronogram), which was recorded live ’n’ local at Applehead Studios. For this sonically orgiastic NYE jam, he’ll be sharing the bill with headliners Rubblebucket.

Dig “Limbs of a Pine,” Benevento’s 2012 collaboration with Rubblebucket singer Kamia Traver:

Rubblebucket and Marco Benevento will perform in BSP’s Back Room Theater in Kingston, New York, on December 31 at 8pm. Tickets are $40 online and $50 at the door. For more information, call (845) 481-5158 or visit http://bspkingston.com/.
