The Kingston Farmers' Market is the center of everything this Saturday, October 23rd, for the Fall Festival. Shop your favorite vendors and stroll your favorite merchant's windows to vote for the best merchant pumpkin carving in the Stockade District. Ballots are available both in shops as well as at the Market. A gift basket comprised of local goods will be given to one lucky person participating in the vote. The Storytelling Series continues at 10:30 a.m. with Kingston Story Laureate, Karen Pillsworth. "Stories of the Season" will be presented at Kingston's historic Persen House along with historic toys and games.
Try your hand at playing "Game of Graces" and other games of the 1800's. The Friends of Historic Kingston will extend visitation hours for both museums today offering tours of the Johnston House as well as a viewing of their current exhibit "Street Whys: Anecdotes and Lore of Kingston, New York." The Senate House will host renowned appraiser and television personality, Leigh Keno, in an art forum focusing on famed Presidential painter and Kingston native, John Vanderlyn. Paintings and antiques from audience members to be evaluated during the afternoon session. The Catskill Mountain Railroad will be hosting their "Haunted Halloween" ride with a fully costumed crew. The Kingston Farmers' Market has more than 30 vendors offering organic and natural fare such as meats and cheeses, fruits and vegetables, breads and other baked goods, honey, fresh-cut flowers and so much more. Healthy eating is affordable for everyone with FMNP and EBT naturally accepted. The Kingston Farmers' Market is held every Saturday, rain or shine, 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., through November 20th. The Market is located on Wall Street in the historic Stockade District of Uptown Kingston near the New York State Thruway at Exit 19. Admission is free as is parking.
