Robert Burke Warren
Known for his popular musical tribute revues for David Bowie, Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen, and others, our unstoppable man about the Hudson Valley, musician, author, and orator Robert Burke Warren, has a new event in store for you: his “Real Life Revival,” which he will present live at the Orpheum Theater on July 31.

Described by the host as a “Catskills-centric cross between ‘A Prairie Home Companion,’ ‘The Moth,’ and ‘Mountain Stage’ radio show,” this edition of Warren’s curated evening of storytelling and music promises appearances by story slam champion Deb Parker, the founder of New York City’s Beauty Bar and the proprietor of Catskill’s Sister Salvage shop; Seth Branitz, a three-time “Moth” story competition winner and New Paltz restaurateur; and Saugerties real estate broker Jennifer Mangione. There will be live music by singer-songwriter Juliana Nash, the cowriter of the Off-Broadway/West End musical “Murder Ballad,” and rising Shandaken singer-songwriter Elwood.

“‘The Real Life Revival’ offers the pleasure and excitement of sharing invigorating, restorative art in real time with neighbors and friends,” says Warren. “After over two years of unprecedented screen time and isolation, this event brings back the communal in-the-room experience, with a focus on Hudson Valley artists.”

Cosponsored by Upstate Films, the Golden Notebook Bookstore, Bjorn Qorn, and Krause’s Chocolates, Robert Burke Warren’s “Real Life Revival” will take place at the Orpheum Theater in Saugerties on July 31 at 8pm. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. See the Upstate Films website for details.
