Raise a Glass to Coppersea's Late Cofounder and Pioneering Distiller November 9
By Coppersea Distilling
Every fall, Coppersea Distillery in New Paltz honors the legacy of its co-founder and OG distiller Angus MacDonald by hosting a Big Angus Green Malt Party, where the public is invited to sip a nip of Coppersea's rare green malt whisky, which employs an obscure historic method that MacDonald unearthed through reading.
On Saturday October 19, from 12 to 7pm, Coppersea celebrates New York State Rye Week with the release of its Coppersea Distilling PX Sherry Cask-Finished Single Barrel Empire Rye. To further honor the roots of sherry, the release event will feature live flamenco duo Mario Rincon + Andreas Arnold.
Saturday, October 5, is Pig Fest at Coppersea. You can stock up on bacon, sausage, roasts and chops for your freezer, perfect for chilly-day breakfasts and holiday feasting, while enjoying a lovely October drive down Springtown Road, one of the finest autumn landscapes on earth. Sunday, the distillery hosts Bikes, Bourbon and Brunch, a festive fundraiser for the Wallkill Valley Land Trust.
Most weekends, visitors to the Springtown Tavern at Coppersea Distilling are more than happy to enjoy Coppersea’s fine spirits neat, savoring the unique flavor notes and mouthfeel that result from grain-to-glass, hand-crafted heritage distilling techniques. This Saturday, the farm distillery will celebrate its wares in craft cocktail form.
This Sunday, you're invited to stop by the farm, where Coppersea Distilling's chief distiller Christopher Williams is looking forward to showing you every step in Coppersea's heritage distilling process. Free guided tours will be happening every hour from noon till 5pm.
