It’s hard to think of a more perfect setting in which to catch a performance of top-flight old-time music than an actual barn in upstate New York. But that’s just what’s on offer November 15, when the Caleb Klauder Country Band comes to Jim and Emily’s barn for an evening of food, drinks, and down-home dancing.
Based in the Northwest, the Caleb Klauder Country Band features mandolinist Caleb Klauder and guitarist Reeb Willms, both members of the Foghorn Stringband, touted by many as the finest old-time string band on the West Coast. Organizers of the potluck event ask attendees to bring food and drink to share and arrive at 5pm (music will start at 6pm). Revelers should also bring any extra chairs they can fit in their cars (“just in case we run out of seats”)—along with their dancing shoes.
And how about this scene of the group in another appropriate environment:
The Caleb Klauder Country Band will perform and Jim and Emily’s barn in Ancramdale, New York, on November 15 at 5pm. A $15 donation is suggested. For more information, call 518-329-0130.
