Since it opened about two years ago cool Kingston venue the Anchor has been consistently booking solid musical acts. And here comes yet another: Wichita, Kansas, brass/punk/folk outfit Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy, which hits the club tonight.

Featuring mandolin, banjo, trombone, acoustic bass, and “feed-bucket trap set” (?) percussion, the five-piece band has been making its name on the road for several years with its rambunctious, high-energy performances and repertoire of “social satire to labor union songs to Civil War Ballads to existential journeys that explore life, death, despair, and indulgence.”

Why, just have yourself a look-see right here:

Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy will perform tonight, October 21, at 9:30pm. at the Anchor in Kingston, New York. The Gold Hope Duo will open. Admission is free. For more information, call (845) 853-8124 or visit http://theanchorkingston.com.
